Location

The bridge is on Zi Ya River that goes through the boundary of He Bei District and Hong Qiao District. It connects Wu Ma Road in He Bei District and San Tiao Shi Heng Street and Jin Zhong Qiao Da Street in Hong Qiao District as well as Cheng Xiang Zhong Road in Nan Kai District.

Design Requirement

Net Clearance

Planned as aⅥgrade water way, its clearance of span is 4.5m while the width of main navigation route is 30m. The bridge is suggested to design in one span across the river.

Width

Ci Hai Bridge is planed for automobile in long term with 6 lanes two ways. It is for mixed traffic in the short term.

Roads

Two planning roads parallel Zi Ya River at both sides. Haihe Dong Road is planned as secondary trunk road with its alignment of 30m and Zi Ya River South Road is planned as arterial road of the city with the alignment of 30m. The alignment of Haihe Dong road is unalterable while parts of Zi Ya River South Road can be adjusted. Interchange is set up at the intersection of Haihe Dong Road, Zi Ya River South Road and Ci Hai Bridge. Clearance of span of the bridge is 4.5m.

Height of flood bank of two sides of Zi Ya River is 5.5m. Flood bank in east is to the setback of 15m of planned east side of Haihe Dong Road. West bank should be considered in both Zi Ya South Road and San Tiao Shi Heng Street.

Bridge Form

Tower arch bridge and cable-stayed structure bridge are suggested. The tower in the bridge will have the functions of commerce and sightseeing and its unique style will make it the scenery in Haihe River. Sculptures will be curved on pedestal of the tower to reflect the history of modern national industry, water transport, and outstanding achievement of city redevelopment. People can enjoy the beautiful scenery and learn history of the city while they meander along the river.
