(Tianjin Daily)On May 30, the signing ceremony for the technical introduction of ethylene oxide/ethylene glycol devices for Tianjin PetroChemical one million tons/year ethylene project was held in Beijing. This is the first technical introduction contract signed in Tianjin Petrochemical one million tons/year ethylene project, which symbolizes the official starting of the construction project for ethylene oxide/ethylene glycol devices in the project.

There are many sets of devices including ethylene, high-density polyethylene, ethylene oxide/ethylene glycol, polypropylene and etc needed to be introduced in the ethylene part of Tianjin Petrochemical one million tons/year ethylene project. The completed ethylene oxide/ethylene glycol devices will have the ethylene oxide single reactor with largest domestic production capacity, which can produce 40 thousand tons of ethylene oxide and 360 thousand tons of ethylene glycol each year. In order to start the construction of the devices project early, and ensure its putting into operation on schedule, as early as last April, Tianjin PetroChemical conducted technical exchange and negotiations with many foreign enterprises including Dow Chemical Company, Royal-Dutch/ Shell Group and etc. After on-site study and technical comparison and screening, a technical transfer agreement with Dow Chemical Company was eventually contracted.

It is known that the three parties, i.e., Dow Chemical Company, International Co., Ltd. and Tianjin PetroChemical, will hold a confirmation meeting on the starting conditions of ethylene glycol devices in early April, making the last preparation for the overall design of the next devices.
