(Tianjin Daily)Yesterday, the supporting electric power project with 300 million yuan of investment for Tianjin “Large Ethylene Project” was completed and put into operation, two days ahead of schedule, laying a solid energy foundation for the smooth opening of the “Large Ethylene Project”.

The municipal electric power company took the power supply project for “Large Ethylene Project” as the fist project serving the large-scale development economy in Tianjin, and established a project headquarter with the head of the company as the principal to arrange the schedule of such links as design, equipment procurement, construction and etc from backward by means of deploying picked troops and overcoming those pressure from short term, tough task and big difficulty after the accepting the task. With six building teams composed of staffs from Binhai Power Supply Company, High-Voltage Power Supply Company as the main force, the maximum construction staffs reached up to 3000. Within two months, 24000 meters of 220 kV lines were new built; around 10000 meters of original three-loop 220 kV lines were removed; about 101000 meters of 110 kV or 35 kV cables were laid; 70000 meters or so of the original 11-loop, 110 kV and 7-loop, 35 kV lines were removed, creating a new record in the electric power construction history of Tianjin.

It is said that as the largest investment project in Tianjin’s history and the symbolic project for the starting of the development and opening up of Binhai New Area, Tianjin PetroChemical will become the integrated production base for ten million tons of oil refining and million tons of ethylene in our country after Tianjin million tons of integrated ethylene refining and petrochemical project is completed.
