(teda.gov.cn)Vestas hosts the opening ceremony for its new plant known as Wind Turbine Equipment (China) Co., Ltd. at TEDA West. Mayor Dai Xianglong of Tianjin and Danish Prince Joachim attend the ceremony.

"Tianjin Municipal Government will give its full support to the wind turbine equipment manufacturing base run by Vestas in TEDA," says Mayor Dai. "Denmark and Tianjin have been enjoying long-term friendly cooperation. I hope Your Excellency's visit will push the exchanges and cooperation between us to a new level."

Joachim says, "Tianjin's economy has been growing fast in the past years, and many enterprises from Denmark have been quite successful here. We will make more Danish enterprises come to Binhai New Area for investments."

Vestas' investment will provide incentives to TEDA's development in fields of new energy sources and new materials. TEDA's rapid economic growth has set the stage for Vestas' growth. Vestas is a world leading wind power equipment manufacturer with a 37% share of the world market. This plant in TEDA is for manufacturing blades and general assembly, with a price tag of EUR 57 million.
