(Enorth.com.cn)Reporters were informed this morning from related departments that in order to gear up the development and opening up in Binhai New Area, the project of core road network invested totally 1.91 billion yuan will start construction recently. It included a series of projects of Central Avenue and West Intermediate Road and extended line within the area. Among them, Central Avenue plans to build as a mark road in the area in the future. It starts from Hanbei Road in Han’gu District in north and ends at Haijing Avenue in Dagang District in south with a total length of 50.5 kilometers. It designed to be dual six-lane carriageway and 60kilometer/H of speed limit. Besides high-standard afforastation landscaping belts will be built at each side of the road. It planned to complete at the end of 2008. After completion, it will enhance the carrying and radiate capacity of Binhai New Area to a large extent.

This year it lays stresses on the eight-kilometer line from No.4 Road to Tianjin No.1 Line and the 600-meter No.4 underground and Haihe tunnel. The line from No.4 Road to Tianjin No.1 Line and the No.4 underground will start earlier, while Haihe tunnel plans to start in the second half the year. The No.4 underground is 32 meters in width, from Shengli Road in the south to Nanhai Road in the north, crossing over Shugang No.4 Road, Railway Jin’gang No.1 Road, lightrail and Dalian East Road. The West Mid Ring Road and extended road in the new area start from Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan Expressway No.2 Line in the north and connect with Tianjin-Shantou Expressway with a total length of 72 kilometer and design to be dual six-lane carriageway. It starts at the second half year and plans to complete by the end of 2008. Building the movable bridge over Haihe Sea is another key point this year. The movable bridge over Haihe Sea on West Intermediate Ring Road is preliminarily chosen the site near Hujiayuan in Tanggu District with a total length of 2500 meters and width of 32 meters.
