(Enorth.com.cn)Reporters were informed from forestry departments that in order to build a green ecological corridor to connect Beijing and Tianjin, the Beijng-Tianjin inter-city railway traffic green landscaping project will all-out start. Through forestation and landscaping on both sides of the railway, the high-standard green landscaping belt access to Tianjin will be put into effect at the end of May 2008.

It is known that Beijng-Tianjin Inter-city railway is a key project to serve 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. It is 66 kilometer within the domain of Tianjin with a 55kilometer of afforestation belt outside the city. Totally 15 million yuan were invested into the project whose general task is to artificially grow 16.5 thousand mu of forest though 12 towns and a farm in Wuqin District and Beichen District in Tianjin. It plans to build a 200m ecological landscaping forest belt at both sides of the inter-city railway within the domain of Wuqin District and Beichen District, while at the same time starts ten spots of landscaping project building for beautifying along the line. In order to ensure ecological safety, all of the chosen vegetation types were environment conservative at top grade that made the project to be a high quality, top-class landscaping belt with evergreen and naturally strewed plants. Besides in order to build a favorable ecological network, Tianjin generally planed to carry out afforestation projects along railways and national highway above national second-class so as to all-out build ecological forests on both sides of highways, railways and roads in countryside with road protection belt as the core.
