(Enorth.com.cn)The commonly concerned Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan Expressway No.2 Line is expected to put into operation next year. Reporters were informed that the No.2 Line (Tianjin segment), as one of ten important projects in process of construction in Binhai New Area, came into all-round building.At present, the east segment is put in operation, while the west and middle segments are under earthwork such as filling roadbed and building lower part of bridge. Reporters also figured out from the construction headquarters of the No.2 Line that by the end of this May, the project finished 80% of earthwork and land requisition were completed basically except some local sites. According to the speed, the line is expected to formally put in effect next year.
Access to Binhai New Area
Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan Expressway No.2 Line starts from the Fifth Ring Road nearby Xizhi River of Chaoyang District in Beijing and ends at Beitang Township in Tanggu District of Tianjin. Its total length is 177.8 kilometer in which 33.8 kilometer belongs to Beijing segment and 144 kilometer belongs to Tianjin. The Tianjin segment including a main line and three tie lines plans to be invested with 9.9 billion yuan. According to the plan, the main line is 101 kilometer long, starts from Gaocun Village in Wuqing District, Tianjin, passes through Meichang, Wuqing District, Dongditou, Beichen District, Dongli Lake and Huzhang Village in Dongli District, ends at Beitang, Tanggu District to connect with the ring road planned to build in Binhai New Area.
Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan Expressway No.2 Line is not only a golden corridor connecting Beijing and Tianjin, but also an important line matching the ring road traffic network in Binhai New Area in the future. The project of core area road network of the Binhai New Area with a total investment of 19.1 billion yuan will start construction in the near future. The project includes a series of projects such as Central Avenue and West Intermediate Ring Road and its extended road in the new area. Among them, the West Intermediate Ring Road and its extended road start from the Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan Expressway No.2 Line in north thus completely connect with it.
Except the road connecting with the core road network in Binhai New Area, the No.2 Line also includes three tie lines with a total length of 43 kilometer respectively connecting with Beijing-Shanghai Expressway, Tianjin and Tianjin-Han¡¯gu Highway. Among them, the Tianjin-Han¡¯gu Highway tie line is 19 kilometers long and connects the Tianjin-Han¡¯gu interconnected crossroad, passing over Shanlingzi in Dongli District, Tianjin-Han¡¯gu Highway and joining with Weiguo Road.
The east segment put into operation
Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan Expressway No.2 Line (Tianjin segment) is a top class largest sized highway with highest building standard in the city. The line is designed to build 12 large sized interconnected crossroads, 111 large and medium-sized bridges, 31 separable crossroads and other affiliated projects.The Tianjin east segment project of the No.2 Line was put into operation this March. The east segment starts from Yangbei Highway, spanning Yangbei Crossroad on Beijing-Shandong railway and passing through Tanggu District and Dongli District, and connecting with flyover on Dongjing Road of Tianjin-Han¡¯gu Expressway in west. The main line is totally 20 kilometers long with a speed limit of 120 kilometer/H. In addition, the east segment, one of 20 major projects of outer constructions matching Tianjin Port, is the ¡°north corridor¡± in the crisscross highway network in the collecting and distributing port. Its completion indicates that vehicles from Northeast, Inner Mongolia and Hebei can directly access to the port through Tangshan-Tianjin Expressway and the Tianjin east segment of Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan Expressway No.2 Line without passing through Tanggu District.
In fact, Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan Expressway No.2 Line is not only an important high speed corridor between Beijing and Tianjin, but also a convenient economic corridor in highway network in Bohai Sea Ring metropolitan area. Professor Liu Binlian from Logistics Research Center of Traffic Research Institute of Nankai University noted that the No.2 Line will drive the development of two city groups and increment of land along the line thus developing extended areas outside the city groups.
