(Enorth.com.cn)Beijing Roadway Administration Bureau disclosed that the second corridor between Beijing and Tianjin was formally approved to establish the project from the state and planed to start construction in June.

The road is another rapid corridor connecting Beijing, Tianjin and Tanggu as well as one of the three high-speed corridors in the north, south and mid connecting Beijing and Tianjin. The approved one was the north corridor. The line starts from the fifth Ring Road in Beijing and ends at the port area in north of Tianjin with a total length of 135 kilometer including 34 kilometer in Beijing and 101 kilometer in Tianjin.The Beijing segment designed to be 100~120 kilometer/H in speed limit. The transportation capacity estimated to be 114 thousand vehicles/day in 2027 and designed to be dual eight-lane carriageway. The entire line totally sets six interconnected crossroads, seven separable crossroads, four viaducts, one river-crossing bridge and 25 passage bridges. Totally 4.62 billion yuan invested in it.

Reporters were informed that on March 17, 2006, NDRC had approved the project proposal already. At present it conducted investigation works such as land requisition and dismantle-move and planned to start construction in June. It plans to put in effect together with Tianjin segment at the end of 2007.
