(Enorth.com.cn)The main track of an essential rapid railway connecting Beijing and Tianjin——the Tianjin segment of Beijing-Tianjin Expressway is under building currently and plans to complete the entire line within the year. In addition, there will be three rapid corridors connecting both cities in 2008, including Beijing-Tianjin Expressway No.2 Line, Tianjin-Ji County Expressway extended line and Beijing-Tianjin Inter-city Railway.

It is reported that the main track of Tianjin segment on Beijing-Tianjin Expressway in process of building starts from Sicundian in Wuqing District interconnecting with Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan Expressway in the north and ends at Jinghai County interconnecting with Hebei Province segment of the Expressway in the south. The main track of Tianjin segment passes through Wuqing District, Xiqing District and Jinghai County with an entire length of 90 kilometer and 35 meters in width of roadbed. It designed to be dual six-lane carriageway. Except the 90 kilometer of main line, the Tianjin segment will build two branch lines, one connects with Weihai-Wuhai Expressway from Dangcheng to Zhangjiawo in Xiqing District with a total length of 24 kilometers long and a dual six-lane carriageway, whereas another connected with Tangshan-Tianjin Expressway from Huxin Village and Wangguan Village in Jinghai County with a total length of seven kilometers and a dual carriageway of four lanes.
