(Enorth.com.cn)Standard Chartered signed a MOU with TEDA’s Administrative Committee to establish a China Operation China in TEDA. Pi Qiansheng, member of the Standing Committee of Tianjin Committee of CPC and director of the Administrative Committee of Binhai New Area, deputy mayor Cui Jindu and relevant leaders attended the signing ceremony.

Pi Qiansheng met Zeng Jingxuan, president of Standard Chartered’s China region. Pi appreciated Standard Chartered’s stress on the cooperation with Tianjin. He said that Standard Chartered’s selecting as Bohai Bank as the partner is a foresighted decision. As Binhai New Area is included in the overall development strategy of the state, pushing forward financial reform and innovation is the premier task of the comprehensive and auxiliary reform of Binhai New Area.

Zeng Jingxuan said that as one of the four major municipalities, Tianjin is the economic center in north China. She is honored that Standard Chartered can play an important role in developing Tianjin’s economy. She wants to provide quality services and innovative products by using the business network and strong business capacity of Standard Chartered.

It’s said that in order to provide financial services to clients in China region, Standard Chartered plans to set up an operation center in China. After investigating more than 10 cities, the bank finally decided to establish the center in TEDA. The business scope of the center includes retail banking business, namely, loan application and account management and wholesale banking business, namely, trade, cash management fund management. A client service hotline center will be establish to support the retail banking business in rapid development after the opening of RMB business.
