Auto and equipment manufacture base

According to head of Economic Development Bureau of Tianjin Development Zone, Tianjin Qingyuan Electric Vehicle Co., Ltd. formally starts working in the industrialization base of the zone in 2006, indicating that electric automobile autos will take the lead to realize large-scaled industrialization in the development zone. The zone became one of first group of eight auto and element export bases, thus working as a platform of international exchange and cooperation of auto industry.

In addition, Tianjin FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. put forward multiple models; subsequently it concentrates on doing the third factory in Tianjin Development Zone. The factory is capable of producing 200,000 autos and formally put into production this year. Then the company will complete the layout of all products, while raising the entire output capacity to 500,000 annually.

In the coming days, auto industry in Binhai New Area will actively take part in adjustment and reorganization of China’s auto industry. Within five or ten years, it will build to be one of important auto industrial clusters led by entire auto field. In detail, it will develop medium and top grade of sedans and luxury coaches, build projects such as Toyota auto and engine improvement, increase types of entire vehicles and enlarge projection scales. Besides, it will build scientific and technological garden of auto industry, speed up nationalization, develop competitive part and element industry and build trans-regional production system. It is expected to produce 500,000 in 2010 and 1,200,000 in 2020.

Besides, Binhai New Area will integrate technologies with independent development, raising research and development capacity of whole set of equipment and stressing on optic-mechanical-electric integrated equipment and precise molding and processing equipment. In the meanwhile, it speeds up to build dockyard in Tianjin New Port and raises capacity of shipbuilding and oceanic engineering in order to be one of modernized ship and oceanic engineering equipment manufacture bases. It also develops the seawater desalination technology, building one of largest manufacture bases of seawater desalination technology. Besides, it develops environmental protection equipment manufacture and beefs up the environmental protection industry.

State petrochemical base

The marked one-million-ton ethylene of SinoPec and its matched projects was formally put into operation in last June. By the year of 2008, it is estimated to reach 1.2 million tons of total scale of petrochemical ethylene, refine 12.5 million tons of oil and produce 12 million tons of petrochemical products. At present, each project has completed the general design scheme and entered into the process of approval, while foreign introduction technological works are about to wrap up. Some of them began to invite manufactures.

Binhai New Area will also develop other large-scaled petroleum projects, besides the one-million-ton ethylene refining integration, for the purpose of raising petroleum processing capacity and develop downstream products, thus forming the petrochemical industrial clusters. In 2010, its oil refining capacity will reach 30 million tons and output capacity of ethylene will be 1.2 million tons; in 2020, these figures will respectively reach 50 million tons and 3 million tons.

In addition, Binhai New Area will take advantages of resources such as ocean, port, tidal flat and wasteland. By relying on Dagang and Bohai oil fields, it supports group projects of SinoPec and PetroChina and builds petrochemical economic industrial chains, while beefing up coordination with peripheral regions, so as to form a first-class and close-knit chemical industrial belt.

Regarding oceanic chemistry, Binhai New Area will make use of petrochemistry to reform traditional chlor-alkali industry. It will actively develop specially purposed PVC colophony. Besides, it will accelerate to move and improve Tianjin Soda Plant.

New-type energies and aviation and aerospace industry

Since the project of general assembly line of Airbus A320 aircraft settled down, Binhai New Area has completed early-period works smoothly. In the coming five years, it will focus on aeronautical manufacturing industry. Meanwhile, it will take advantage of scientific and technological strengths nationwide to boost technological introduction and develop equipment and elements, so as to form new advantageous industries.

Concerning energy saving and consumption reducing, Binhai New Area will stress on industrializing batteries. It will build new-type materials and develop high-functioning metal materials. In addition, it will integrate textile enterprises and build textile industrial gardens with advanced equipment.

In the meanwhile, it will focus on parts and elements, developing wireless communication, display, basic components and software. Besides, It will increase proportion of top-end products and expend LSI and basic components. As a result, it is dedicated to be one of important chip production bases in China. It also develop electronic products such as auto engine control system and take the lead to produce auto wiring harness and auto acoustic products.

In the near future, Binhai New Area will push forward industrialization process of genetic chips and biological drugs, developing biological pharmaceutical fields and strengthening antibiotics, vitamins, hormones and aminophenols. Meanwhile, it builds drug production bases for serious illnesses, raising technological contents in Chinese medicine products in order to push forward modernization of Chinese medicine.
