(Enorth.com.cn)Tianjin is making final preparations for the Tianjin Trade Fair & Investment Talk which will run from April 18 to 23.

The city will exhibit in the fair its achievements made in social and economic development, its favorable investment environment and projects which may promote regional economic development.

Binhai New Area will again arrest attention of people from home and abroad. The new area will set up a booth showcasing its advantages in manufacturing, research and development, transportation and shipping, logistics, information services and tourism in its eight functional zones including development zone, free trade zone and the Tianjin port and its leading role in the Bohai Sea Rim Region. The new area’s booth will give prominence to Dongjiang Bonded Harbor Area, and projects of Airbus and one-million tons of ethene in order to better introduce its development layout, favorable policies and environment to attract foreign and domestic investment and promote regional cooperation.

Tianjin is an old industrial base with a solid foundation. The exhibition area for industries this year records 2,500 square meters. It will focus on industrial achievements, especially made in the six pillar industries of electronic information, chemical, metallurgy, auto making, biotechnology and medicine, new energy and environmental protection, ten completed and new projects, and development program and targets set in accordance with the 11th Five-year plan (2006-10).

With the theme of “promoting cooperation and win-win situation in a harmonious manner”, the exhibition area for agriculture will showcase the city’s agricultural achievement in rural industrialization, rural urbanization and the living standards of the rural residents, and introduce the city’s leading agricultural enterprises, rural tourism and green agricultural products to attract investment from home and abroad.

The urban construction area will give an introduction of achievements made in this sector such as phased results of Haier River development, the city’s urban planning and its new look. Tianjin has rolled out a series of infrastructure projects including railway, light rail, subway and expressway, key urban revamp projects including Haier River and Wudadao exotic buildings area as well as commercial projects including its exhibition center, commercial center and commercial street.

The national biology and pharmaceutical innovation park jointly set up by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Binhai New Area and the comprehensive cooperation agreement signed by the Tianjin municipal government and the Chinese Academy of Sciences will be mainly presented in the scientific and technological exhibition area in the fair to demonstrate the city’s comprehensive strength in technology and in the hope of forming a cluster of hi-tech projects and gradually radicating its leading position among its counterparts in China and the rest of the world.

The tourism part will present the city’s unique natural and cultural tourism resources, especially its eight tourism attractions, twelve cultural tourism spots and development projects in tourism in the Binhai New Area to attract visitors and investors.

The city’s six district governments will also organize excellent enterprises in their district to attend the fair and present their advantages in the fair to seek more cooperation opportunities in line with the need of their development.
