Japan Airlines to boost flights to and from China; expand code-sharing

Japan Airlines Corp said it will increase flights between Japan and China in a bid to making these routes its second pillar after trans-Pacific services.

Beginning June 2, JAL plans to gradually increase flights between Narita and Beijing from 14 a week to 19, while raising those connecting Narita and Guangzhou and adding more flights linking Nagoya and Tianjin.

In June, the airline said it will also expand code-share flights with China Eastern Airlines, launching services between Nagoya and Beijing.

The moves will boost JAL group's flights to and from China to 287 a week, covering 12 cities and 29 routes.
