This weekend saw the curtain raised 开幕了for the new Premiership season, with the Community Shield match.
This charity fund-raising 集资，募捐event takes place annually between the winners of the FA cup, and the winners of the Premiership in the previous season. This year Manchester United played Chelsea, in a largely uneventful game.
The score at full-time 全部时间 was 1-1, but Manchester United managed to clinch最终赢得the game by winning the penalty shoot-out 点球决胜 3-0. Ryan Giggs scored the first goal of the match, with new signing 新签约 Florent Malouda equalising 打平for Chelsea before half time.

But the real hero of the match was Edwin van de Sar, United’s goal-keeper, who saved Chelsea’s 3 penalty shots to take the match 赢得比赛 for United. He saw this as his revenge 复仇 for having lost to Chelsea in the FA Cup.
