enorth.com.cn   2007-09-12 15:53

(Enorth.com.cn)Jingyuan Garden was the residence for the last emperor Puyi in 1920s and 30s, which is situated in No.70 Anshan Road, Heping District. He lived here with the empress Wan Rong, concubine Wen Xiu and former officials from the exile in 1925 to November in 1931.

Jingyuan Garden was used as office building and dormitory after being taken over by P.R.C. government. In 2003, Tianjin started to repair and restore its appearance and collected cultural relics, in order to establish exhibition hall of the Last Emperor in China. The restored display will be arranged according to the original. The imitated furniture and decorations, as well as the articles, writings and photos are supposed to present the life and political activity of Puyi during his stay in Tianjin.
