This area was received great attention and innumerous builders are building the land filling engineering in Dongjiang Bonded Port Area and large-scale seagoing dredges are dredging the sea route. “Dongjiang was a vast ocean five years ago, making land by dredger fill, by far, a land area of 16 square kilometres for the land filling engineering in Dongjiang Bonded Port Area has been formed. By 2010, the Dongjiang Port Area will become land and the hydraulic fill mud mount of fill will be about 300 million cubic meters. If the mud is built into a dyke with height of one meter and width of one meter, it can round the earth for eight circles”, Zhang Lili, Zhang Lili, the General Director of the construction of Dongjiang Port, said proudly.

In June 2002, the North Breakwater and Reclamation Dam of Dongjiang port area was initiated.

In 2004, the land reclamation by dredged was put into construction phase.
