Since Tianjin-Binhai Light Railway was put into trial operation in 2004, its passenger flow was multiplied year by year; while it made a new breakthrough in 2007. It is predicted to be 12.4516 million person-times of total passenger flow in 2007, with a daily average passenger flow of 34100 person-times, increased by 40.91% year on year. It carries increasingly more passengers to and from cities and Binhai New area and plays the role of a traffic tie between them.

Besides raising the passenger flow, Tianjin-Binhai Light Railway also gradually uplifted service quality and carried out its promise of “punctuality, rapidness, comfort and safety”. It optimized train operational scheme to ensure punctual and rapid operations; in addition, it may add trains or narrowed departure internal in rainy or mist days. In case that large-scaled events are held in TEDA football field or exhibition center, Binhai Mass Transit Development Company manages to transport passengers to city area by means of adding trains, prolong operation time or increasing evacuation staff. In 2007, Tianjin-Binhai Light Railway uplifted transport comfort according t passenger’s demands, beefed up security management, improved detailed service and promoted the pass for the senior, thus reflecting its ideas to promote service quality and meet passenger demands.
