In 2007, Tianjin Port has organized three massive voluntary labor, carried out centralized environment harnessing, qualifying and accepting month, special dust storm control and appraisal of top 10 sanitary scenic spots, launching an upsurge of comprehensive harnessing. The environment of Tianjin Port witnessed significant changes after one-year-long afforestation.

An ecological port is come into being

It’s pointed out in the report of the 17th National Congress of CPC that we shall make efforts to save energies and resources and intensify the ability of sustainable development. Zhang Gaoli, secretary of Tianjin Committee of CPC, pointed out in his report: “we shall do well in the comprehensive harnessing of the environment of Binhai New Area to significantly improve the overall image of the area.”

Tian Changsong, president of Tianjin Port (Group) Co., Ltd, pointed out that Tianjin Port will continue to inherit the concept of “constructing ecological port and sharing the blue sea and sky”, further improve the environment in the port zone, do well in the afforestation of the main roads and square with high standards.”

According to the objective put forward by Tianjin Port, in 2010, the dust pollution in Tianjin will be fundamentally improved, the total green are in the port will come to 3 million sq. m and the green coverage will come to above 20%.
