The test flight runway connects the final assembly workshop

The reporter saw at the construction site that the runway is 3200 m in length and 60 m in width. It connects the airport at one end and the final assembly workshop at the other.

Such projects as the slitting and crack filling and road mark erecting were proceeded like a raging fire. Dozens of slotting machines were operating on the runway in a bid to raise the friction between the aircraft tyre and runway and enhance the landing and take-off quality.

Random sampling and quality test for raw materials

It’s said that there’s a strict quality control system from raw material procurements to each construction procedure. The building personnel displayed a quality factor analysis diagram to the reporter at the construction site and there’s specific supervision and follow-up measures for more than 20 factors categorized in people, equipment, materials, process and management and environment. For example, except the necessary formal testing report, an experienced testing engineer and procurement persons must go to the material supply place to make random sampling test of the raw materials.

Acceptance and flight checkout will be made at the end of April

According to the plan, the installation of various mechanical and electrical equipment, communication and navigational equipment will be finished by late March, the commissioning will be made in early April and the acceptance and checkout of the runway will be made in late April to ensure that the first aircraft rolling down from the final assembly line can make test flight in May.
